40 Killed in a two -arranged accident in Tanzania
30, Jun – At least 40 people died after two buses collided before they were burning in the Sabasaba area, along the Moshi-Tanga highway in Kilimanjaro Province, Tanzania, on Saturday afternoon, the Matahari reported.
According to local media reports, one of the buses carrying passengers on the way to the wedding.
The accident caused dozens of passengers to be trapped on the burning bus while trying to escape.
Some victims were reported not identified due to serious burns.
Meanwhile, 30 more passengers, which are believed to be residents of Tanzania, were reportedly injured and rushed to the hospital for further treatment.
Through sharing images showing the two buses collapsed in front and seen as a result of the incident.
The firefighters tried to help the victims who were still alive. The exact cause of the accident is still being investigated by the authorities.
Meanwhile, President Tanzania Samia Sambahu Hassan expressed his condolences to the victims’ families through bait on platform X.
“I expressed my condolences to my family, relatives, and friends of the victims. May God give peace to the spirits of those who have gone and immediately heal those who are injured. May their families be given strength and perseverance in this difficult time,” he said.
The tragedy occurred shortly after other incidents involving buses that brought British tourists on the South Thailand highway.
In the incident, the bus that brought tourists to Koh Samui Island lost control and reversed, causing dozens of injuries.
Last May, the tour bus was also involved in an accident after crashing into a pickup truck near Yellowstone National Park, Idaho.
The incident killed seven people with a terrible recording showing the rescue team that struggled to extinguish fires on the highway known as ‘deadly roads’.
