6 -year -old roaming in the ward was investigated by premature baby death

Paris – A six-year-old boy is being investigated by French authorities after being suspected of causing premature baby death, The Independent reported.

The incident occurred at Jeanne-De-Flandre’s children’s hospital in Lille, north of France.

A baby, known as Zayneb-Cassandra, who was born early at the age of seven and a half months by a 23-year-old woman was placed in a neonatal unit for further monitoring.

It is understood that the baby was reportedly suffering from a serious brain injury after being suspected of falling to the floor by the child, which is believed to treat him like a doll.

According to local media reports, the incident occurred when the child, who was also the son of a patient in the maternity ward, was seen without supervision around the hospital including neonatal units.

During the incident, the baby’s mother signed a document to leave the hospital, before her son was found unconscious on the floor, with a child in the nearest chair.

According to a family statement, a woman in the nearest room claimed to have heard a loud noise that is believed to have a baby’s head to the floor.

The baby was then rushed to the intensive care unit, but was declared dead.

It is understood that before the incident, some patients and hospital nurses had complained about the behavior of children who often invaded other patients’ rooms and roam around the morning ward.

Following the incident, the criminal investigation was opened by the children’s units in the Lille Judicial Police service in collaboration with the local prosecutor’s office. The hospital also announced an internal administrative investigation to examine the possibility of carving security procedures

Meanwhile, a hospital spokesman said in a statement that the incident also had a deep impression in the hospital.

“This tragedy has an in -depth effect on the entire medical team of the Lille University Children’s Hospital and the family involved,” he said.
