Two Teacher Rooms Anum Vocational School Dang was destroyed in a fire
Jasin – A fire was reported at Dang Anum National Secondary School (SMK) Merlimau Melaka involving two teacher rooms that were destroyed this morning, Astro Awani reported.
According to the Operations Commander from the Merlimau Fire and Rescue Station (BBP), senior firefighters I Mohd Sukur MD Ali, he confirmed that no death was reported in the incident around 5.30 in the morning.
Mohd Sukur added that he received an emergency call information through MERS 999 at 5.36 in the morning before the first engine was deployed to the location two minutes later.
“When the Operations Team (PKO) arrived at the scene, it was found that the fire had two teacher rooms on the first floor of the school building.
“The fire involved an area of around 80 x 60 square feet with an estimated destruction of 70 percent,” he said in a statement today.
It is understood that 19 members of the four halls from BBP Merlimau, BBP Jasin, BBP Padang and Bukit Katil BBP were involved in the operation.
At 7 o’clock this morning, the blackout operation was still ongoing and the actual cause of the fire and the estimated loss was still under investigation.
