Development planning in Malaysia covers three stages divided into long -term, medium and short planning as follows:

  • Second Term Plan (RRJP2), 1991 – 2000
  • Insight 2020, 1991 – 2020
  • Third Term Plan (RRJP3), 2001 – 2010

Returning to the main topic of the discussion, Malaysia’s plan is a plan specifically designed to ensure that all Malaysian economic development and growth is in line with long -term planning.

This sets the target of economic and heavenly growth for public sector development programs and outlines the role of the private sector.

Starting with the formation of Malaysia in 1963, 13 Malaysian plans were submitted including those presented in the House of Representatives by Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today.

Meanwhile, the first Malaysian plan that included a period from 1966 to 1970 was submitted on November 25, 1965 by Malaysia’s first prime minister, Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haj.

For each Malaysian plan, the government will also conduct a half -semester study (KSP) conducted in the middle of five years.

KSP aims to review the performance of the achievement of macro and sectoral economic policy plans for the first two years of each Malaysian plan.

This will also make strategic adjustments, if necessary, to achieve a new target review.

In general, Malaysia’s plan is a very important medium -term plan in determining the position of the country for the next five years.

The essence of this plan is to reflect the direction and determination of the government to ensure that the country’s development and economy grew positively.
