IRAN DESPERATE UN Security Council Resolution 487 concerning Israeli Nuclear Attacks
Tehran, June 20 (named)-Foreign Minister Irian Abbas Araghchi has asked the UN Security Council (UNSC) to implement and enforce the 487 resolution adopted in 1981 in responding to Israel’s aggressive actions in Iraqi nuclear facilities, the Mehr News Agency (MNA) reported.
In shipping on his X account on Friday, Araghchi said the heavy water reactor in liquor – under the strict supervision of the International Atomic Energy Protection System (IAEA) and was being developed in accordance with the agreed technical specifications based on the Combined Comprehensive Action Plan (JCPOA) – was attacked by Israel on Thursday.
He stressed that it is important for UNSC, which is scheduled to convey today, defending and implementing resolution 487 after Israel’s attack on Iraqi nuclear facilities as recognized in the resolution in 1981.

“Every military attack on nuclear facilities is equivalent to the IAEA protection system and violations of nuclear weapons control agreements (NPT),” he said, adding that resolution 487 was not only applied to past actions, but also for future incidents.
Araghchi stressed that if UNSC executed the resolution, it must also specify the details of its implementation to the international community.
“If the nuclear weapons regime (NPT) has failed, the UN Security Council and the Israeli regime must be held accountable,” he said.
