Mount Lewotobi man erupted again, a loud voice was heard
Mount Lewotobi Male in East Flores Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) erupted with a fierce last night (September 19).
Citing the Kompas.com report, the eruption was accompanied by a loud sound and volcanic ash spray reached a height of 6,000 meters or 6 kilometers.
Officers at the Volcanic Observation Post (PGA), Emanuel Rofinus Bere reported that the roar sound was heard from the observation site.
“The eruption occurred at 10:46 pm local time,” he said.
The eruption was also recorded in the seismogram with a maximum amplitude of 47.3mm and about 17 minutes 7 seconds.
“The height of the ash observed is 6,000 meters above the peak, around 7,584 meters above sea level,” he added.

Gray gray with thick intensity, leaning west and southwest.
Rofinus advised local residents to wear masks or protective equipment to avoid the dangers of volcanic ash.
He stressed that the level of volcanic activity is at the level of prevention.
“Residents and tourists are advised not to do any activity within a distance of 6 kilometers and within 7 kilometers from the southwest and northeast at the eruption center,” he said.
Meanwhile, AFP reported that volcanic activity continued on Saturday morning.
Volcanological bodies recorded several eruptions including one that sent 2.5 kilometers ash to the sky.

In addition, the airport, which provides domestic flights in Maumere City, is also in Flores, suspending its operations after the eruption.
Head of Airport Frans Seda Partahian Panjitan said the authorities would monitor progress on Sunday before deciding whether the airport would be reopened.
In July, volcanoes spilled gray 18 kilometers of ash, forcing the cancellation of 24 -lamps at the international airport on the island of Resort Bali.
Previously, Mountain had also recorded a series of eruptions that had shown the authorities issued a warning to the highest level.
