Scientists: Antarctica faces changes that cannot be changed

Canberra, August 21 (named) – Australian and international scientists have warned that Antarctica faced potential changes that could not be restored to its ICE, Ocean and its ecosystem with the effects of disaster, Xinhua reported.

Researchers have warned that the West Antarctic ice layer at risk of collapse due to increased carbon dioxide, thereby increasing sea level more than three meters and threatening coastal cities throughout the world, according to a statement issued by the Australian National University (ANU) on Thursday.

“Such collapse will experience a disaster in future generations,” said the main author of this study, Nerilie Abram, Head of Scientists in the Australian Antarctic Division under the Department of Climate, Energy, Environment, and Water.

Abram, who conducted research while serving as a professor of climate science in the Anu, warned that rapid change had been observed and would “worsen with every break of global warming.”

The disappearance of Antarctic sea ice has made a floating shelves more easily collapsed due to waves, Abram said with international climate scientists from Australia, South Africa, Switzerland, France, Germany and Britain.

“When sea ice disappears from sea level, it also changes the amount of solar heat stored in the climate system, and this is expected to worsen heating in Antarctica,” he said.

Co -Author, Professor of Matthew England of New South Wales University, Australia, emphasized that the change was threatening the country with rising sea levels that affect the coastal and southern and fewer oxygen communities, so as to absorb less carbon and deterioration.

The fall of Antarctica sea ice also threatened the emperor’s emperor’s habitat that depended on the emperor, while the crab, seal and phytoplankton were also at risk for the heating and acidity of the sea, the British said. He added that another risk was the collapse of Antarctic circulation which caused important nutrition to be trapped on the seabed and disrupted the marine ecosystem.

This study emphasizes that conservation efforts through the Antarctic agreement alone will not stop climate impacts; Reduction of greenhouse gas emissions near the target of 1.5 degrees Celsius is important to avoid further changes.

The findings published in The Nature Journal emphasized the urgent needs of the government, the business sector and the community to take into account the rapid changes in climate planning in the future.
