He added that 34,284 Kafa teachers served nationally.

Kafa teachers receive RM1,100 allowances a month and are paid by the Federal Government through the provisions of the Malaysian Islamic Development Department (Jakim).

“In addition, the government has also been added to Socso and EPF.

In connection with the monthly allowance of the Imam, in terms of chronology, the Federal government continues this monthly remuneration through a series of improvements.

For 2005, the RM450 allowance for a month was raised in 2017 RM750 a month, then increased to RM850 a month.

“The government is also aware of an increase in the level of minimum wage in RM1.700. However, it must be explained that payments to teachers, teachers and Kafa priests are not permanent salaries but support assistance.

“The government from time to time continues to examine and evaluate the need to increase the level of teacher, teacher and cafa priests based on the current support and priority capabilities of the state in the management of government spending,” he added.
