The Minister of Transportation, Anthony Loke insisted that a heavy vehicle that failed to comply with the installation of speed restrictions (SLD) not only violated the law. In fact, he said, it raises a big risk for the safety of other road users.
According to him, the Ministry of Transportation with the Road Transportation Department (JPJ) handled this problem seriously. He also warned that no compromise would be given to those who were not obedient.
“Acts of strict law enforcement will be taken to ensure the safety of all,” he said.
He also stressed that road safety is a shared responsibility. Therefore, each user is asked to comply with the laws set to protect their own lives and others.
SLD installation is needed for heavy vehicles as a measure of speed control, thereby reducing the risk of fatal accidents involving trucks and buses.
