Tunku Mahkota Ismail advised all parties to provide positive support to the national team
Johor Bahru, May 19 (named) – Acting Sultan Johor Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim said he advised all parties to provide positive support and build a national soccer team.
Tunku Ismail, who is also the owner of Johor Darul Ta’zim Football Club (JDT), said that efforts to develop the Tiger Malaya squad will take time and space to help the team succeed.
He said the effort included the use of services and experience of local and foreign coaches as implemented in the national team today.
“Character (local coach) who has experience in Malaysian football (today) shares (experience) with foreign expertise. Meaning, combination of ideas and knowledge.
“So, that’s what happens now. For me, if we are really interested in football, if we really want to see this growing and there is progress, we must give them time, support and space for them to carry out their duties,” he said when meeting reporters at a hotel here today.
Tunku Ismail said this when asked to comment on the statement of national soccer legend Datuk Santokh Singh, quoted by the Malaya Tiger Revolution, as if there was no identity by questioning the role of local coaches and the dependence of naturalized players and inheritance to ignore local talents.
He said the use of naturalization and inheritance players should not be a problem because the dedication and ability to play for the team is important to consider.
“So for me, if I ask myself, in my personal view, I don’t care where it came from, what color skin, as long as he has blood and is related to Malaysia and he gives it completely to the team (it’s important),” he said.
He at the same time said there was a movement by certain parties who wanted to target it by playing sentiments and narratives that connect the national team.
“I think if we can see more than a month, there is a clear movement that does not want to see this (effort to strengthen the national team) and the main target is me.
“So to attack me, I can’t, certain parties have to attack JDT, the league, to play the sentiment of the narrative and national team, in fact, I (target),” he said.

Thus, Tunku Crown Ismail said he would continue all the efforts he had made in the sports arena, advising all parties not to blame parents such as the Malaysian Football Association (FAM) and JDT about the problem of withdrawing several teams in the Super League next season.
“Every state has important leaders and characters who can contribute or plan, how to improve their club, (but) what have they done for so long?
“I will always work and continue what I do to improve JDT and focus on progress. I will be here for JDT and support what can be for the national team,” he said.
