Ukraine emphasized the ceasefire before the peace talks
Kyiv, August 16 (named -DPA) -Uukraine on Saturday rejected US President Donald Trump’s proposal to hold peaceful talks with Russia without first applying a ceasefire, the German News Agency (DPA) reported.
“Our opinion is: the first ceasefire, then the others,” the advisor of President Volodyyr Zelensky, Seriy Leshchenko, in Ukraine television broadcasts.
He said that if the battle continued during the negotiation, there was a “Ukraine big risk threatened”, the day after Trump held a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska to discuss efforts to end the war.
Trump previously wrote on the social platform of the truth that after consulting with Zelensky and European allies, “all” agreed that the best way to achieve peace in Ukraine is to continue to reach a peace agreement – and not with a ceasefire, which according to him often fails.
Ukraine defended herself from a large Russian invasion for almost three and a half years ago.
