In the implementation of the peak of the pilgrimage, especially when the procession is pouring on the jumrah, questions often arise from the pilgrims related to the origin of the stone used in the worship. Because, every year millions of pilgrims from all corners of the world come to Baitullah to fulfill this fifth pillar of Islam. With a very large number of worshipers, certainly not comparable to the number of stones available at Muzdalifah, the place is recommended to take the stone.
In general, the pilgrims who carried out their initial breathing needed around 49 miles per person, while those who took the Nafar Tsani option were taking about 70 miles per person. Then, what is the ruling if the stone used to throw the jumrah is not taken from Muzdalifah?
The majority of scholars argue that the best stones used to throw jumrah come from the land of Muzdalifah. This is in accordance with the sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad Sallallaahu ‘alaihi wasallam. In the implementation of his pilgrimage, the Prophet Muhammad Sallallaahu ‘Alaihi Wasallam spent the night (Mabit) at Muzdalifah until Dawn, then continued his journey to Mina and did the jumrah with stones taken from Muzdalifah. The example given by the Prophet Muhammad Shalllahu ‘Alaihi Wasallam shows that taking stones from Muzdalifah is the most important or most important choice.
However, there are opinions from several scholars that allow the use of stones from other areas that are still included in the community. Masya’ir region includes Arafat, Muzdalifah, Mina, and all areas included in the land of Mecca. In other words, the congregation is still allowed to use stones from these places to throw jumrah.
The facts on the ground show that the conditions at Muzdalifah during the peak night of the pilgrimage are very crowded and crowded. Not a few pilgrims who have difficulty even have no chance to take stones because of limited time and mass density. Therefore, the scholars allow pilgrims to take stones from other regions that are still in the scope of masya’ir, such as in Mina or even around the throne. Nevertheless, it is important to note that the stones that have been used to throw or those in the shot tub should not be reused. Similarly, stones taken from outside the community, especially if they come from the homeland or country of origin of the congregation, the law is not allowed to be used in the procession of pouring up.
