Kedah License Stop Vape Vape – Sanusi
Alor Setar, (named) – Kedah will not continue to update electronic cigarettes or vape sales licenses in the state, which is also feared to be one of the tools for drug abuse.
Chairman of the Minister of Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi MD Nor Nor, who was said at a meeting of state -level statements yesterday, the discussion also touched the use of vape as a medium of synthetic drug abuse.
“Some have the opportunity to sell synthetic drugs in liquid form that can be smoked using vape. Preventing the sale of vape is one way to curb drug abuse,” he said after leading the Exco meeting here today.
Previously, the media reported that the sale of electronic cigarettes or vape in Perlis was prohibited from effective August 1.
Perlis big minister Mohd Shukri Ramli reportedly said the decision was made based on the prohibition on the use of illegal vape through the decision of the Perlis State Fatwa Committee on electronic cigarettes in 2022.
Muhammad Sanusi said the action to fully prohibit the sale of vape in the state but could not be done in a hurry to avoid any problems.
“The existing license must be turned off because there has been a court case for other cases … Fear of the view, we will be prosecuted,” he said.
He said he hoped that the ban on Vape’s sales including the grocery store would also be enforced starting next year, after no more sales license would continue.
The state government, he said, would continue to intensify drugs at the district level in collaboration with district officers, district police chiefs and national antitrust body officers (AADK).
“Drug abuse has become a ‘injury and cancer’ in the community, so it needs to be treated immediately so that it will not be dangerous in the future,” he said.
