10 States, 1 Region Heavy Rain Forecast Tonight
The Meteorological Department of Malaysia (MetMalaysia) has issued a thunderstorm, heavy rain and strong wind warning for 10 states and one Federal Territory (WP) until 19.00 tonight.
Based on this information, several areas in the state are predicted to experience rain, such as Kedah, Perak, Kelantan, Terengganu, Pahang, Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, Johor, Sarawak, Sabah, and the entire Kuala Lumpur WP area.
“In Kedah, the areas where rain is predicted are Pokok Sena, Padang Terap, Pendang, Sik, and Baling. Meanwhile in Perak, it will occur in Larut, Matang Dan Selamat, Hulu Perak, Kuala Kangsar, Kinta, Kampar, Batang Padang, and Muallim.
Apart from that, Kelantan includes Kota Bharu, Bachok, Machang, and Pasir Puteh. For Terengganu, rain is predicted to fall in several areas in Kuala Nerus, Hulu Terengganu, Kuala Terengganu, Marang and Dungun.
Meanwhile, Pahang includes Cameron Highlands, Lipis, Raub, Bentong, Temerloh and Bera.
In Selangor, rain is predicted in several locations, such as Hulu Selangor, Gombak, Petaling and Hulu Langat. In Negeri Sembilan, only two districts are predicted to receive rain, namely Jelebu and Jempol.
“In Johor it involves the Segamat, Kluang and Mersing areas.
Moving to Sarawak, the areas where rain is expected are Betong, Sarikei (Pakan, Sarikei and Meradong), Sibu (Sibu) and Mukah (Tanjung Manis, Daro and Matu).
Meanwhile in Sabah it involves Pedalaman (Tambunan), Pesisir Barat and Kudat, the statement said.
Therefore, residents in the area are advised to be aware of these sudden weather changes and ensure the safety of themselves and their families.
The public is also advised to avoid outdoor activities and always follow weather warnings from METMalaysia through official channels.
Preventive measures need to be taken to reduce the risk of undesirable events occurring due to bad weather which is predicted to hit the area.
