Every time the adha party, Muslims around the world make sacrifice as a form of compliance God subdaānu to ask and emulate the sacrifice Prophet Ibrahi ʿalayhis islands. In its implementation, the sacrificial committee is generally formed in charge of regulating the course of slaughtering, distribution, and distribution of meat to those who are entitled to receive it.
However, a question arises that is quite often discussed every sacrificial season: Is the sacrificial committee allowing part of the sacrificial animal as a form of wages for their services? The following is a detailed explanation of the law.
There is no direct argument about the sacrificial committee
In the Qur’an and Hadith Rasūlullāh ṣtoparanāhuNo argument was found which explicitly mentioned the existence of the sacrificial committee. Even so, the formation of a committee in modern practice is considered important to facilitate the implementation of sacrificial worship, especially in terms of logistics, slaughtering, to the distribution of sacrificial meat evenly and orderly.
Citing an explanation from the Tarjih and Tajdid Muhammadiyah Council, as reported by the official Muhammadiyah page, the sacrificial committee cannot be equated with Amil Zakatunless it only functions as representative of shohibul qurban (people who sacrifice). Therefore, the committee is not justified to take part of sacrificial animals in return or payment.
The law gives wages to the slaughterhouse from sacrificial animals
The scholars agreed that not allowed to give part of the sacrificial animalBoth meat, skin, or vice versa, for slaughter or nimble as a form of salary or wages for their services.
This is confirmed in a hadith narrated from ʿAlī bin Abī ṭālib raḍiyallāhu ʿanhuhe says:
God’s messenger, may God’s prayers and peace accompany him, order me to fight his religion, and that I swear to his concerns and hearts, and for him, and for that, we give it from us
“Rasūlullāh ṣallallāhu ʿalayhi wa Sallam ordered me to manage the massacre of his sacrifice and to share all parts, including the skin and plan. And he forbade it to give it to the massacre as a small payment.” (HR Bukhari and Muslim)
In other history also mentioned:
We gave a jazzer gift from our souls
“We pay the slaughterer with money from our own.” (Muslim SDM)
These hadiths show that The wages of massacre or sacrificial workers must be from other sourcesNot from the sacrificial animal itself.
Ulama’s opinion about this prohibition
A similar explanation is also presented by scholars. Shaykh ʿabdullāh al-Bassām in the Tawdīuul Akkām States that The butcher can only receive sacrificial meat if given as a charity or a giftNot as compensation for his services.
Ibn qāsimin the Hāsyiyah al-Bājūrī Asy-Syfi’īmention:
“Ḥarām makes the sacrificial animal section a wage for butcher.”
In Al-Boward also explained that giving sacrificial meat as a wage resembles a buying and selling transactions, and it is prohibited in the context of the sacrificial implementation.
What if there is an agreement from the start?
In the Fatḥul Mu’īn work Zainuddin Al-Malbarexplained that If there is an agreement from the start that someone will receive a portion of sacrificial meat as a wage, then the agreement invalid and not allowed. This is because it is contrary to the main purpose of sacrificial worship as a form of getting closer to God subdaānu to ask and not as a means of transaction.
For example, if from the beginning the slaughter or committee member agreed to receive the sacrifice of sacrifice as a payment, then it includes prohibited actions and worship sacrifice.
Can the committee still receive sacrificial meat?
Although it cannot accept as a form of wage, The sacrificial committee is still allowed to receive sacrificial meat with the following conditions:
-
If the committee is a poor person, then he can accept it with status charity.
-
If the committee is capable, it can accept as a form T (providing food in the framework of worship or symbols).
Most importantly, the meat not as payment for servicesbut rather as a gift from Shohibul Qurban As a form of goodness and friendship.
Cover
Understanding the laws related to the implementation of the sacrifice is very important so that this worship is truly in accordance with Islamic law and is accepted on the side God subdaānu to ask. Both shohibul qurban and the committee should maintain the intention and procedure of sacrifice in order to remain in the corridor that has been taught by Rasūlullāh ṣtoparanāhu.
