11 died, dozens injured injured after the victory of the Indian cricket club
New Delhi, June 4 (named) – As many as 11 people were killed and many others were injured in an accident incident in Bengaluru, India on Wednesday outside the stadium where cricket fans gathered to celebrate the victory of the local team.
The whole state of Karnataka in South India was happy after the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) defeated the King of Punjab in the Indian Premier League (IPL) cricket final on Tuesday night.
The victory ceremony was held by the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru, when the RCB forces returned from Ahmedabad in the State of Gujarat, the last match.
The Bengaluru fireworks show on Tuesday night after the RCB won their first title in the 18th anniversary of the IPL Championship, the T20 cricket competition which stole hundreds of millions of Indians.
Eleven people were reported dead and dozens were injured when a number of participants rose outside the Chinnaswamy Stadium.
The event was later canceled after the incident.
The stadium has a capacity of 35,000, but local media quotes the Chairman of the Minister Karnataka, Siddaramaiah, said that around 300,000 people were present to celebrate victory.
“I was surprised by the loss of my life during the RCB victory near the Chinnaswamy Stadium. When the excitement turned into sadness,” Siddaramaiah said in a note on the social media platform X.
“Preventive action has been taken by not allowing the parade of victory, but the surge of the people around the stadium has caused the tragedy. I urge all parties to always take safety to overcome the excitement, response or spirit of the group,” he said.
More than 100,000 people gathered at the State Assembly Building but there were no unwanted incidents reported at that location.
