Nine Suspects in AKPS Commander Shooting Case Released, Two Still Detained
ALOR SETARMarch 9 (Bernama) — Nine of the 11 suspects arrested following the shooting incident at the vehicle of the Commander of the Bukit Kayu Hitam Border Control and Protection Agency (AKPS) last month have been released, while the other two are still in custody.
Kedah Police Chief Datuk Adzli Abu Shah said that previously 10 local men and a Thai woman aged 22 to 60 years were arrested around the Bukit Kayu Hitam area.
“Of the nine people released, seven of them were granted bail under Article 118 of the Criminal Procedure Code, while the other two were granted police bail.
Meanwhile, of the nine people who were released, six of them were charged under Article 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 because they tested positive for drugs. “Two suspects are still being detained for further investigation,” he said in a statement today.

He said that the police were still continuing to investigate and examine the evidence against the criminal incident, and efforts to bring the suspect responsible in the case to justice were still ongoing.
