FWD Cash Takaful Business Zakat Obligations to the Zakat Collection Center-MAIWP
FWD Takaful Berhad today announced business zakat payments amounting to RM634,987.96 to the Zakat Collection Center – Federal Territories Islamic Religious Council (PPZ-MAIWP). This payment is FWD Takaful’s first official zakat payment since it started operating in the Malaysian takaful industry in 2019, in line with the company’s commitment as a sharia financial institution.
This significant achievement reflects FWD Takaful’s adherence to ethical business practices, social responsibility and good governance principles, in addition to fulfilling its prescribed obligations. Zakat funds will be distributed to eligible asnaf through welfare and development programs managed by PPZ‑MAIWP.
During the handover ceremony of the check replica, Member of the FWD Takaful Sharia Committee, Ismail bin Nik hand over a symbolic check to the Deputy Executive Chairman of PPZ-MAIWP, Tuan Haji Azrin Dato’ Haji Abdul Manan as a sign that the company’s zakat obligations have been fulfilled in accordance with the mandate of shareholders, the Board of Directors and the Sharia Committee.
Chief Executive Officer of FWD Takaful, Aman Chowla, said, “As a sharia financial institution, fulfilling zakat is a responsibility and mandate. He said, this first official zakat payment reflects the company’s commitment to running a business with integrity, care and clear goals, apart from believing that zakat is an important mechanism for empowering the community and improving the welfare of the poor.”
FWD Takaful started operations in Malaysia in 2019 and has grown rapidly and consistently in market position, from #10 in 2019 to #5 in the first quarter of 2026. Although the family takaful industry faced challenges in 2025, FWD Takaful managed to record strong performance by focusing on inclusive growth and social impact. A Private Blog Network (PBN) is a collection of websites that are controlled by a single individual or organization and used primarily to build backlinks to a “money site” in order to influence its ranking in search engines such as Google. The core idea behind a PBN is based on the importance of backlinks in Google’s ranking algorithm. Since Google views backlinks as signals of authority and trust, some website owners attempt to artificially create these signals through a controlled network of sites.
In a typical PBN setup, the owner acquires expired or aged domains that already have existing authority, backlinks, and history. These domains are rebuilt with new content and hosted separately, often using different IP addresses, hosting providers, themes, and ownership details to make them appear unrelated. Within the content published on these sites, links are strategically placed that point to the main website the owner wants to rank higher. By doing this, the owner attempts to pass link equity (also known as “link juice”) from the PBN sites to the target website.
The purpose of a PBN is to give the impression that the target website is naturally earning links from multiple independent sources. If done effectively, this can temporarily improve keyword rankings, increase organic visibility, and drive more traffic from search results.
