Selangor Ultras Banned from Entering Stadium for Three Matches

SHAH ALAM, Feb 7 (Bernama) — Selangor FC decided to impose disciplinary action against Selangor Ultra following an incident involving several individuals from the supporters’ group before their Super League match against Terengganu FC last week.

Selangor FC in a statement announced that Selangor Ultra was banned from attending three matches from February 8 to 22, involving two Malaysia Cup quarter-final matches against Negeri Sembilan FC and one Super League match against Kuching City FC.

According to the club, individuals convicted of drug abuse or drug possession are prohibited from entering the stadium for any match involving Selangor FC for three years with immediate effect.

Selangor FC upholds the orders and recommendations of the Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah as Royal Patron of the Club as well as the advice of the Young Ruler of Selangor Tengku Amir Shah as Chairman of Selangor FC regarding this incident.

“The club does not tolerate any violations of the law and will continue to cooperate with the authorities to ensure public order and security,” according to the statement.

Selangor FC informed that the incident that occurred is hoped to be a lesson for the Selangor Ultras and for the group of supporters to return to the stadium with new enthusiasm and determination and become an example in enlivening the local football atmosphere.

Selangor FC also calls on all supporters to continue supporting the club responsibly and with mutual respect in order to maintain public safety, the club’s image and the future of local football, the statement said.

Previously, Sultan Sharafuddin expressed deep sadness and disappointment over the flare burning incident at the Kuala Terengganu Lift Bridge, Terengganu which allegedly involved supporters of the Selangor FC football team on February 1.

As Royal Protector of Selangor FC, His Majesty also does not approve of the culture of thugs and gangsterism among local football supporters, especially Selangor FC supporters.
