Gerik accident: Bus driver claimed to be innocent for the death of 15 UPSI students
Gerik, June 13 (named) – – The bus driver involved in a fatal accident involving Sultan Idris University of Education (UPSI) students in Gerik on Monday claimed to be innocent in the Gerik Magistrat Court here today for 15 accusations of driving in danger.
Mohd Amirul Fadhil Zulkifle, 39, also claimed to be innocent for dangerous driving accusations that threatened public lives after accusations against him were read separately before judge Muhammad Firdaus or Azlan.
According to the accusation sheet, Mohd Amirul Fadhil as a bus driver who allegedly drove in danger to the public, causing the death of 15 UPSI students around 1.15 in the morning at KM53 West East Road (JRTB) Gerik-Jeli on June 9.
The Students Involved Were Fakhrul Arif Rosdi, 20, Mohammad Aqil Taqiuddin Mohd Sofian, 21, Nik Amni Nad Nik Nor Zabir, 21, Nurul Fatihah Abu Setaman, 22, Nurul Izyanti Muhamad Azahar, 21, Sufea Adela Maslihaizan, 21, Nur Ainul Qistina Mat Ali, 21.
Other students were Nur Dalilah Farhana Mohamad Isma, 21, Nurly Sahirah Azman, 23, Fatin Nasrien Fadli, 22, Muhammad Mustaqim Rosde, 21, Anis Soffiyya MD Zaidi, 20, Nor Ayuni Maslan, 21, Muhammad Adib Hazim Halim, 21 and Wan Nur Suhaila Wan Muhammad, 22.

The defendant was charged with section 41 (1) of the 1987 ACT transport road (ACT 333) which regulates a five to 10 years in prison sentence and a maximum fine of no more than RM50,000, and is disqualified from holding or getting a SIM for less than five years, with the sentence.
For other costs, he was charged with section 42 (1) of the same action governing prison sentences for up to five years or a minimum fine of RM5,000 or both and disqualified from holding or getting a SIM for less than five years.
The court then allowed the defendant to guarantee RM19,000 for all accusations with two guarantors while they had to report to the nearest police station every week, in addition to all suspended driving licenses that were suspended until the case was resolved.
The court also set July 14 as a date to carry out the case for the defendant to appoint a lawyer.
The prosecution is being handled by Silver Prosecutor Muhammad Zaki Abdul Kudos along with two representatives of prosecutors Nasrul Hadi Abdul Ghani and Moganaraj Mithra.
On Monday morning, 15 Upsi students were killed when 33 people were injured when their bus was handed over in an accident at KM53, JRTB near Lake Banding, Gerik after colliding with Perodua Alza vehicles.
