KPT is ready to help Malaysian students in Iran being placed in the local Heis

Kuantan, June 21 (named) – The Ministry of Higher Education (KPT) is ready to provide educational assistance to all Malaysian students in Iran if they decide to return home.

Minister of Higher Education Datuk Series Dr. Zambry Abdul Kadir said he would help place them in higher education institutions (IPT) in the country based on their academic courses.

“They are Malaysians and in this situation, it is our duty to provide assistance to those who need it,” he told reporters after opening a meeting of representatives of the UMNO 2025 Division at Palace here today.

Asked about news reports about four Malaysian students in Iran who refused to return home, he said he had made every effort to provide assistance but could not take any action if students chose not to return.

“We cannot do anything because they don’t want to go home. However, if they change our minds, we are willing to help,” he said.

Zambry said that the KPT always worked closely with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in managing the welfare of Malaysians abroad, especially if there was a crisis.

Yesterday the media reported that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at the final stage completed efforts to help Malaysians and their family members in Iran returned to the country after the ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran.
