Renowned biographer Michael Schumacher, who was famous for his writing about major figures in the world of arts and culture such as film director Francis Ford Coppola and legendary musician Eric Clapton, has died at the age of 75.
This was confirmed by his daughter, Emily Joy Schumacher, on Monday. According to Emily, her father died on December 29, but the cause of death is not yet known.
“My father is a very generous person and friendly with the people around him. He really loves people. He likes to chat, likes to listen to other people’s stories and really appreciates life stories.
“When I think of my father, I imagine him chatting away, a cup of coffee in his hand and a notebook always by his side,” he said.
Emily also described her father as a history lover and a good person.
According to him, Michael wrote by hand, filling many notebooks before retyping the results using a typewriter. The sound of the typewriter keys was still fresh in his memory.
