Mykiosk KPKT: There is no criminal element, MACC focuses on the problem of governance – azam balance
Kota Bharu, July 3 (named) – There is no criminal element of investigation of corruption and abuse of Mykiosk tender by the Ministry of Housing and Regional Government (KPKT), said the Commission of the Anti -Corruption Commission (MACC) Tan Azam Baki.
He said the current MACC investigation was about the problem of governance.
“So there is a mistake in understanding the media by saying we are investigating criminal cases. We have conducted an initial investigation and did not see the problem of crime but we are now focusing on the problem of governance if we have suggestions to the KPKT for repairs, but at this time it has not been resolved,” he said.
Azam said this was in a press conference after watching the Director of Macc Kelantan Baru Azmin Yusoff and former incumbent Rosli Husain, here today.
He said he considered reports from MCA Youth and input obtained from the KPKT itself and the Ministry had provided good cooperation in the investigation.
Yesterday, MACC began an investigation of allegations of corruption and misuse of Mykiosk Tender construction by the KPKT.
Meanwhile, commenting on the investigation of the case involving former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, Azam said MACC would submit a request to the court to eliminate the confiscated property of RM170 million.
“If he (Ismail Sabri) challenges in the court, the trial will continue and this money will lose rights then it will be the result of the government. That is what the DPP (Deputy Prosecutor Deputy) decided today,” he said.
Previously, the former prime minister was summoned several times for the recording session of the property declaration made by Ismail Sabri to Macc under section 36 (1) from the 2009 MACC Act.
MPs also faced the investigation of corruption and money laundering in terms of expenditure and acquisition of funds for the promotion and publicity of the Malaysian family program during their services as prime ministers from August 2021 to November 2022.
This case is being investigated under the 2009 MACC ACT and Money Laundering Laws, Prevention of Terrorism Financing and the results of illegal activities in 2001.
