Police Arrest Man Uploading Posts Insulting Islam on Facebook
JOHOR BAHRU, July 25 (Bernama) — Police arrested a man for allegedly posting inflammatory messages insulting Islam as well as using expressions of disgust and obscenity against Allah and the Prophet Muhammad SAW on his Facebook page, yesterday.
Johor Police Chief CP Datuk Ab Rahaman Arsad said that his party received a report from a local man who claimed to have seen the viral post uploaded by the account owner at 12.38 midnight.
He said, based on the review, the owner of the account had shared several screenshots uploaded by individuals who insulted Islam and made disgusting and indecent expressions.
Based on information, the police team arrested a 37-year-old local man in the Iskandar Puteri area at 1am this morning and confiscated two cellphones, he said in his statement today.
Ab Rahaman said the suspect had no previous criminal record and was now being detained until next Tuesday to assist with investigations in accordance with Article 4(1) of the 1948 Sedition Law, Article 233 of the 1988 Communications and Multimedia Law, and Article 298 of the Criminal Code.
“Johor Police issued a strong warning to all parties not to touch or raise the 3R issue (race, religion and royal institutions) in any form that could disrupt harmony and public order,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) in its statement confirmed that it was conducting a comprehensive investigation into complaints regarding 3R content allegedly insulting Islam on Facebook.
MCMC informed that it will not compromise against unlawful misuse of communication platforms.
MCMC informed that it is also working closely with the police and is ready to provide technical assistance and digital expertise to assist with ongoing investigations, if necessary.

A Private Blog Network (PBN) is a collection of websites that are controlled by a single individual or organization and used primarily to build backlinks to a “money site” in order to influence its ranking in search engines such as Google. The core idea behind a PBN is based on the importance of backlinks in Google’s ranking algorithm. Since Google views backlinks as signals of authority and trust, some website owners attempt to artificially create these signals through a controlled network of sites.
In a typical PBN setup, the owner acquires expired or aged domains that already have existing authority, backlinks, and history. The purpose of a PBN is to give the impression that the target website is naturally earning links from multiple independent sources. If done effectively, this can temporarily improve keyword rankings, increase organic visibility, and drive more traffic from search results.
