Post Malaysia recorded a net loss of RM41.5 million in the first quarter
Kuala LumpurMay 21 (named) – The Malaysian Post BHD recorded a net loss of RM41.5 million for the first quarter ended on March 31, 2025, soaring from the net loss of RM19.6 million in the same quarter last year, influenced by a lower contribution than the post and logistics segment.
Income declined to RM467 million from the previous RM491 million.
“The post -remaining segment is the biggest contributor to produce RM279.1 million.
“However, this recorded a decrease in four percent due to a decrease in the number of letters in mass and international letters,” Malaysia Pos said in a statement to the Malaysian exchange today.
POS Malaysia also informed that the logistics segment also experienced a significant decline in income, to RM49.1 million compared to RM64.8 million. This is mainly due to a decline in automotive and cargo management activities as well as changes in the price mechanism and a longer ship port.
On the other hand, the group said the flight segment recorded a higher revenue of RM93 million in the survey quarter compared to RM91.7 million in the same quarter last year, contributed mainly by the flight catering business.
Meanwhile, other segments continue to grow healthy with higher results, contributing mainly by increasing digital certificates.
Malaysia said that despite the potential to face challenges, including the impact of the United States tariffs on the postal segment, the group remains confident in their transformation and ability to provide a long -term value that is sustainable to stakeholders.
