PUTRAJAYA, June 25 – The cost of developing the city of Madani which will be launched by the Prime Minister at the innovative ceremony tomorrow will be borne by the developer.

According to the Minister in the Department of Prime Minister (Federal Region), Datuk Series Dr. Zaliha Mustafa, the project did not involve direct expenditure of the government because of the implementation through public-private cooperation based on the concept of making-leaving-transfer-transfer (BLMT) by Putrajaya Holdings.

“The cost of developing RM4 billion is borne by the developer. The developer will also bear the maintenance costs. After 25 years, the total project will become a government,” he said in a statement on his official Facebook page.

Through posting on Facebook, Zaliha seems to improve the misunderstanding of the project and insist that the city of Madani is not intended to replace Putrajaya, but rather a small development area in the existing administrative area.

As many as 10,000 new quarters will be provided. So far, more than 17,000 application quarters have not been met because of the shortage of existing units.

Commenting on the name of Madani, Dr. Zaliaha explained that it was not a political label but referred to humanitarian values, justice, balance, and sustainability.

The development of Madani City is implemented in line with the vision of the city of Chase, a clean city (clean), Healthy (Healthy),advanced), safe (safe) and environmentally friendly (environmentally friendly).

Development features also include low carbon elements, green networks, smart mobility and the latest technology applications.

Dr. Zaliaha stressed that civil servants have the right to enjoy good housing facilities and that Putrajaya must continue to be strengthened as an inclusive and visionary administrative city.
