The government ensures that the price of RON95 gasoline is not increased
Johor Bahru – The government has assured that the price of RON95 gasoline for the people of the country will not be raised.
This problem was informed by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on the last day of Johor PKR Congress 2025 today.
Obviously, the government is currently thinking about oil subsidies.
“There is an initial proposal to raise oil prices, then help.
“Me and the cabinet do not agree to increase oil prices. Oil prices can be gradually reduced according to the current price.
Marketing subsidies for foreigners
“But oil prices must be increased to foreigners. We have 3.5 or 4 million foreigners in Malaysia. They get oil subsidies.
“What is wrong with us must market subsidies to foreigners with vehicles, according to the projection of RM3 to RM4 billion subsidies,” he said.
In the 2025 budget presented on October 18, Anwar said the government would implement RON95 gasoline subsidies starting in mid -2025.
However, the government is committed to maintaining subsidies for most people, as applied in the marketing of electricity subsidies, when 85 percent of people are not affected.
The government continues to bear the subsidy of 12 billion ringgit
The Prime Minister emphasized that the marketing applied would not affect 85 percent of people who would continue to enjoy subsidized prices.
“The government will continue to bear the estimated subsidy of 12 billion ringgit for the needs of 85 percent of people,” he added.
