Three-year-old boy drowned in the pool of a country house

Acting Alor Gajah Police Chief DSP Azrul Mohamed said the child was taken to the Emergency and Trauma Unit at Melaka Hospital in an unconscious state before being declared dead on arrival at the hospital at around 23.45.

Post-mortem results found the cause of death was drowning and the parents of the children involved, each aged 36, will be summoned by investigating officers this afternoon to assist with investigations in accordance with Article 31 (1) (a) of the Children Act 2001, he said in his statement today.

It is understood that the children along with their parents and family members rented a country house to celebrate their family day programme.

The child was found floating by the father and family members before the victim attempted to be saved via cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) while waiting for the ambulance to arrive.
