Traffic Members Involved in Accidents While Accompanying the ASEAN Delegation
KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 26 (Bernama) — A member of the Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT) suffered serious injuries after being involved in an accident on Jalan Tun Razak near the Jalan Kinabalu exit, this afternoon.
It is known that at the time of the incident, the member was accompanying a delegation from Brazil who was on their way to attend the ASEAN Summit before his motorbike hit the back of a car that stopped suddenly.
Previously, a four-second video of the accident went viral on social media, allegedly uploaded by a road user who recorded the incident.
In the video, a JSPT motorbike can be seen having an accident and being damaged, and a traffic member lying on the side of the road as a result of the accident.
JSPT Bukit Aman director Datuk Seri Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri when contacted confirmed the incident and would issue a statement in the near future.
This is the second accident involving members of the 47th ASEAN Summit delegation reported so far.
Yesterday, a JSPT member also suffered injuries after being involved in an accident at Kilometer 22.3 of the Dengkil Rest and Treatment Area exit to the north, Jalan Raya Elite here.
