Wanting to stop working, Korean man reveals his reasons for leaving Malaysia

Malaysia has definitely become the destination of choice for many people from all over the world.

This lucky country is not only famous as a tourist location.

Natural beauty, cultural diversity and unique local food make this country a major attraction in the Southeast Asia region.

In fact, it finds a place in the hearts of foreigners to stay longer and build a new life here.

However, the view of South Korean men who are willing to leave their careers in Malaysia and return to their hometown is different.

“Let me tell you why I left Malaysia and returned to Korea..”

The man shared via his TikTok account @secondlife_of_hope that in Malaysia he was able to earn 5k-7k dollars a month by working two jobs.

No wonder, he admits that working in Malaysia has good work-life balance practices.

However, one day, he accidentally watched a video that changed his perception of life.

“It was a video of a Simon Squibb interview with a woman. He asked, ‘What is your dream?’ (What’s your dream?)

“The woman actually had a clear dream. However, she couldn’t make it come true because she had to think about survival.

“If he doesn’t work for a salary, he won’t earn an income.

“Finally the woman quit her job and started a business. She went to Bali and started doing what she wanted. Starting from a job she liked, she managed to build a successful business.

“But if financial and survival problems have been resolved, what do we actually want to do? That’s a question that often haunts us,” he said.

The man added that he also had things he really wanted to do. But, he didn’t do it because his life at that time was too comfortable.

“I made excuses and just persisted. I stopped teaching Pilates which I was doing, and I also resigned from the company,” he said again.

In less than a week, he decided to change his life goals (stop working) which was just working hard without clear direction.

For him, the more bitter and complicated the first steps, the brighter the opportunity to create a glimmer of success in life.

Therein lies the true meaning of life.

“I want to challenge you. In 2026, pat your chest and ask yourself. Am I really making my dreams come true? Is this life path heading in the right direction?” he asked.
