Heavy Rain Warning in 8 States, 2 Territories Until Tonight

Heavy rain, thunderstorms and strong winds are expected in eight states and two Federal Territories until 20:00 tonight.

The Meteorological Department of Malaysia (MetMalaysia) informs that severe weather conditions will occur throughout the state Malacca, Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur And Putrajaya.

Switch to SarawakHeavy rain is expected to hit the Samarahan, Sri Aman, Sarikei (Pakan and Julau), Sibu (Kanowit) and Kapit (Song) areas.

Upon entry Sabah also only involves Tawau and Sandakan (Kinabatangan) Regencies.

A warning is given if there are signs of a thunderstorm with a rain intensity exceeding 20 mm/hour that occurs in the near future or is expected to occur for more than one hour.

“A thunderstorm warning is a short-term warning that is valid for a period of no more than six hours for a single issue,” he said.
