Sabah Floods: Victims Drop by 1,387 People, Four PPS in Beaufort Still Operating

KOTA KINABALUMarch 1 (Bernama) — The number of flood victims in Sabah continues to decrease to 1,387 people from 442 families as of 4 this afternoon, compared to 1,462 people from 467 families this afternoon.

The Secretariat of the State Committee for Disaster Management (JPBN) in its statement informed that the temporary evacuation site (PPS) at the Darul Ikhlas Mosque in Beaufort was closed at 12 noon yesterday after the flood situation showed positive developments.

According to the statement, four more PPS are still operating in the Beaufort district to accommodate the affected victims.

So far there have been no fatalities or fatalities reported.

Meanwhile, the Malaysian Meteorological Department estimates that some areas in the interior of Sabah will receive rain this afternoon and evening.
